Ramiz Jafarov, a member of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PFPA), was arrested in administrative order on November 3. He was summoned to the 15th department of the Sabunchu district police department of Baku, PFPA reported.
Later, the activist was taken to court, which assigned him 25 days of administrative arrest. He was found guilty under the Artricle 535.1 (not subordinate to the police) of the Code of Administrative Offenses.
The PFPA believes that Jafarov is being persecuted for political reasons and because of his vigorous activity on social networks.
The attempts to get comments from the Ministry of Internal Affairs were futile.
