Member of the Party of People’s Front of Azerbaijan (PPFA) Agil Magerramli (Magerramov) was released from the colony today upon the expiration of his 4-year prison term.
The activist was released early in the morning to prevent a meeting outside the colony with a large number of PPFA members and journalists.
Magerramli stated that after his release he would continue his political activities.
Recall that Magerramli was arrested in May 2018 in a trumped-up case of “illegal financing of the PPFA.” He sentenced to a four-year of imprisonment. Despite being eligible for parole, the courts repeatedly denied him.
Magerramli was found to be a political prisoner.
