On the morning of October 8, in front of the Serious Crimes court building, the police unreasonably detained several members of the Party of People’s Front of Azerbaijan (PPFA). A Turan correspondent reported from the scene that six PPFA members, including women, were forcibly put into a car and taken to an unknown destination.
Police squads lined up in front of the police building. These measures are due to the fact that today a verdict is expected for the PPFA activist Niyameddin Akhmedov whom the prosecutor called to sentence to 15 years of imprisonment on false charges of financing terrorism.
The police did not let anyone into the courtroom, although the process is open.
It should be recalled that Niyameddin Akhmedov is the bodyguard of PPFA leader Ali Kerimli.
