[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Local activists of the Party of People’s Front of Azerbaijan (PPFA) Tahir Veliyev, Fazail Aliyev and his son Farid Aliyev were detained in Gazakh region on Sunday.
Closer to midnight, Veliyev was released, Ramil Jarchiyev, a member of the Supreme Majlis of the PPFA, told Turan.
Veliyev himself told Turan that he was detained because of an interview he had with residents of seven Gazakh villages that had been under Armenian occupation since the early 1990s.
Fazail Aliyev was taken to court today, according to local activists, he is charged with committing an administrative offence – “disobeying the police”.
On Monday, the local court fined him 200 manats “for resisting the police”.
At the same time, his son Farid Aliyev continues to be held in the regional police station, where, according to the same sources, a drug case is being prepared against him.
