Detained on May 20 near the building of the Baku Court for Grave Crimes, religious activist Aghaali Yahyaev was sentenced on Friday evening to 30 days of administrative arrest. The Nasimi District Court of Baku found him guilty under Art. 510 (petty hooliganism) and 535.1 (failure to obey the lawful demands of the police) of the Code of Administrative Offences.
Yakhyaev and 4 other activists were detained near the court building during the announcement of the verdict against Razi Humbatov, a member of the Muslim Unity Movement.
Two of them, Suleyman Alekperov and Mail Karimli, were released in the late afternoon, human rights activist Arzu Abdulla said.
The fate of two other detainees, Imran Mammadli and Elgiz Mammadov, remains unknown, the activist added.
