Convicted ex-head of the Executive Power of the Gadabay region Saleh Rustamov has been on hunger strike for 10 days already. His health is grave, his lawyer Bahruz Bayramov told Turan. Rustamov, who is in the Medical Institution of the Penitentiary Service, has lost 10 kg.
“I met with him yesterday. He can hardly move, his pulse is fast and he is very sluggish,” Bayramov said.
Relatives of Rustamov visited him on November 15 and noted the deterioration of his condition. They managed to persuade Rustamov to give up the dry hunger strike, which he intended to start today.
It was not possible to obtain comments from the Penitentiary Service.
Meanwhile, Rustamov was visited by members of the National Preventive Group under the Ombudsman with the participation of doctors, the press service of the Ombudsman’s Office reported.
