On January 10, the Khatai District Court considered the complaint of public activist Bakhtiyar Hajiyev about the ban on telephone conversations and meetings by the investigating authority.
As lawyer Sadigov told Turan, The court partially satisfied the complaint. By a court decision, the investigator’s ban on telephone conversations and meetings between Hajiyev and close relatives was lifted, a lawyer Sadigov told Turan.
The rstriction on telephone conversations and meetings with other persons remains in force. As the lawyer explained, according to the law, the accused has the right to telephone conversations and meetings, both with close relatives and with all other persons who are of legitimate interest to him.
After consultations with Hajiyev, the defense will decide whether to appeal against the specified court verdict or not, the lAwyer said.
The court session passed without the participation of Hajiyev.
* Bakhtiyar Hajiyev was detained on December 9 on charges of hooliganism and contempt of court. On the same day, the Khatai District Court arrested him for 1 month and 20 days.
On December 15, Hajiyev went on a hunger strike demanding his release from custody. On the evening of December 28, he ended his hunger strike after persistent appeals from members of the public and family members. However, on January 9, Hajiyev resumed his hunger strike, after the appeal court once again rejected his arrest complaint.
