The court sentenced Giyas Ibragimov to 30 days of administrative arrest
Baku/23.06.23/Turan: Youth activist Giyas Ibragimov has been detained, his mother Shura Amiraslanova told Turan.
According to her, persons in plain clothes came to their house in the afternoon.
“They demanded Giyas to delete the post on facebook. However, he refused to do that and to give the phone back. After that they took him away,” Amiraslanova said.
She noted that a protocol was drawn up against Ibragimov for violation of Article 535.1 (failure to obey the lawful demands of the police) of the Administrative Offences Code, after which he was taken to Nizami district court.
Recall that Ibragimov has been arrested before. In 2016, he was arrested after writing political slogans on the pedestal of the monument to Heydar Aliyev together with the late Bairam Mammadov. Both were sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment but were pardoned in 2019.
