A group of persons was summoned to the Prosecutor General’s Office in order to prevent publications on “undermining socio-political stability”, “violating the rights and freedoms of citizens”, as well as discrediting measures to strengthen the country’s defense capability. Measures prescribed by law were taken against them, the message of the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office dated January 24.
In particular, Yalchin Mirzali, Ilham Huseynov, Nizami Abbasli, Afgan Isayev and Rasim Azadov were warned about the inadmissibility of repeating the mentioned negative actions.
In addition, administrative proceedings have been launched against Namig Aliyev, who published information prohibited for dissemination on Facebook. He also made “calls aimed at disrupting the activities of government agencies, disseminated offensive and slanderous information.”
By the decision of the Binagadi district court, he was arrested for 1 month under the Article 388-1.1.1 (publication of information prohibited for distribution in the information Internet resource) of the Code of Administrative Offenses.
At the same time, the Prosecutor General’s Office does not disclose what these persons and Namig Aliyev, who created the Yeniavaz.az page on Facebook, shared on their accounts.
According to experts, the prosecutor’s office should disclose in detail for which content users were warned and arrested.
