Yesterday, “Azadlig” Newspaper correspondent Agil Khalil was interrogated in the Chief Prosecutor’s Department for the Investigation of Grave Crimes.
Khalil’s lawyer Elchin Sadigov was present during the interrogation. Employees from the Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety were also present outside the building. The interrogation ended at 2 a.m. this morning. And after this, Khalil was sent back to Kurdemir. Journalists tried to contact Khalil after he left for Kurdemir, but they were unsuccessful. “Azadlig” Newspaper Director Azer Ahmedov told IRFS, “After Khalil was sent away, I have received no news. It is supposed that at present he is resting.”
