As reported by anspress.com, two employees of ANS TV channel, correspondent Gunel Isayeva and cameraman Rashad Rashidov, faced pressure from provincial officials on December 10, while investigating reports that the outskirts of a village in Goychay district have been polluted by household waste.
“We received complaints from the residents of Qarabaqqal village of Goychay district about the pollution of the village and went there to investigate the reports. We took photos of the village and then tried to get comments from head of the Department of Housing and Public Utilities, Logman Aliyev, regarding the situation. At the meeting Aliyev insulted us and attempted to beat us. He even broke the lens of our camera” Isayeva said, adding that she has already made a complaint to the Goychay District Police Office.
