APPEAL SENT TO COUNCIL OF EUROPE ABOUT “LIDER” TV CHANNEL

Yesterday (23 April) a group of human rights defenders made an appeal to Council of Europe about “Iflas” (“Bankruptcy”) film that was broadcast on “Lider” TV channel on 22 April.

“Yeni Musavat” Newspaper reported this. Novella Jafaroglu, one the human rights activists to sign the appeal, said that she considers the film another case of black PR campaign against journalists and politics.

“Showing journalists naked on TV and expressing insult and slander about them is a severe violation of human rights,” said N.Jafaroglu, adding that she hopes that the Council of Europe will react to this issue.
