ATV BROADCASTING VIA SHORT WAVE CEASED IN NAKHCHIVAN

The broadcasting of “Azad Azerbaijan” TV (ATV) via short waves has been stopped in the area of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic since 3 December 2009, 2:00 p.m. The Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety Nakhchivan correspondents reported this.

IRFS Nakhchivan regional correspondent was told by Nakhchivan TV Transmission Station that the TV channel’s broadcasting has been ceased according to a decision issued by Nakhchivan National TV and Radio Council and Press Council, not due to technical problems. However, ATV reported that there’s no problem associated with the broadcasting of the TV channel in Nakhchivan.
