Today, 5 October, international TV channel “ATV International,” (ATV Int) which belongs to “Azad Azerbaijan,” began broadcasting.
ATV television channel “Khabarlar” (News) Department Editor-in-chief Vagif Aydinoglu told the Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety that the TV channel will broadcast programs in five languages: Azerbaijani, English, Russian, Persian and Armenian. V.Aydinoglu added that “Turksat satellite will be temporarily used for ATV Int. The main aim of the broadcasting of this channel is to deliver the events happening in our country to the international community.
On 5 March 2009 the National TV and Radio Broadcasting Council (NTRC) granted six year license (agreement) to “ATV Int.”
