AZTV DOESN’T AGREE TO JOURNALIST’S LAWSUIT REGARDING HIS DISSMISAL

Journalist Asef Guliyev who visited Armenia from the11th to the 14th of July and joined the international conference “Freedom of information in Caucasus”, told the Media forum that he was dismissed from Azerbaijan Television and Radio Broadcasting Closed Shareholder Society.

Guliyev said that he was working in the “Child, youth and military patrioticism” editorial office and that after returning from the visit, the leadership of AZTV suggested he leave his job on his willing. Guliyev however, refused. “I have not represented Azerbaijan during the visit. I also was on leave. I appealed to Azerbaijan Television and Radio Broadcasting Closed Shareholder Society Chairman Arif Alishov three times to inform him of my visit. However, I was not accepted by the Chairman” said A. Guliyev.  

 

Azerbaijan Television and Radio Broadcasting closed Shareholder Society Press Service Head Khatira Gasimova told the Institute for Reporters` Freedom and Safety that journalist Asef Guliyev was not dismissed from his job in AZTV. She added that the term of contract between Guliyev and AZTV ended on the 31st of July and was not extended. “Asef Guliyev was on leave from the 14th to the 27th of June,   after he came to work,  the term of his contract were not prolonged under the Labor Code” said Khatira Gasimova.
