BBC RADIO APPEALS TO NTRC FOR EXTENSION OF ITS BROADCASTING LICENSE IN AZERBAIJAN

BBC Radio appealed to the National TV and Radio Broadcasting Council to extend its license term for broadcasting on an Azerbaijani national frequency.

NTRC Assistant Chairman Togrul Mammadov told this to the Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety. According to Mammadov, this matter will be considered in the near future.
“I suppose, it will be considered when the results on opening a sports TV channel come out,” he added.

Recall that last year on 20 July the NTRC granted BBC radio a license for a year to broadcast within Azerbaijan.
