Today, 6 May, protest against the recently implemented ban on wearing hijabs in schools was held in front of Ministry of Education.
A group of journalists were physically assaulted by police while they were implementing their professional work in the protest.
When Turan Information Agency employee Etimad Budagov, “Fakt khabar” portal employees Tural Hasanli and Vugar Huseynov were implementing their professional work, they faced pressure from plain clothed persons and police employees.
Tural hasanli reported IRFS that they faced police’s aggressive behavior, when they were recording during the protest. “Police compress gas to my eyes and hands. They beat my camera with bludgeons. Then they used inappropriate language against me and used pressure against me” said journalist.
