On May 6th, the Baku Appeals Court postponed the hearing on the appeal of human rights defender Vidadi Isgnadarov against the Nasimi District Court's May 2nd judgment. Judge Sahibkhan Mirzeyev presided over the hearing.
The Human rights defender’s lawyer Akif Alizade told IRFS that the reason for the postponement is that Vidadi Isgandarov did not participate in the hearing. The Judge scheduled the next hearing for 10 May, at 4:00 p.m.
Human rights defender Vidadi Isgandarov was arrested during the 17 April 2011 opposition protests in Sahil Park. He was subsequently sentenced to 15 days of administrative detention. Criminal case was launched against him on 2 May. He was sentenced to two months of pre-trial detention for interference in 2010 parliamentary elections.
