Yesterday, 30 July, Ombudsman Administration employees visited Imprisoned Editor-in-Chief of “Tolishi Sado” Newspaper Novruzali Mammadov in the Justice Ministry Penitentiary Services’ Medical Facility, according to the Ombudsman Administration.
During the meeting M.Mammadov said that his health is not normal; he got ill several months ago and has severe pains in his body. Therefore he was transferred to the treatment facility on 28 July. N.Mammadov complained about the treatment there and the lack of normal conditions.
Through the participation of N.Mammadov, the administration employees talked to the Chief Doctor and leadership of the facility and told them to solve all the issues raised by Mammadov. The leadership of the facility promised to solve all problems.

The Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety was told by the Defense Committee for Mammadov’s Rights that N.Mammadov’s family and lawyer visited him yesterday and Mammadov’s health has deteriorated since he was transferred to the treatment facility.
Novruzali Mammadov was sentenced to ten years of imprisonment under article 274 (treachery) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan Republic.
