A group of newspapers editors-in-chief addressed an appeal to the president of Azerbaijan Republic Ilham Aliyev, according to Gundelik-Baki newspaper.
Pressure used by the Press Council against Mass Media, Council Chairman Aflatun Amashov’s interference in the operation of independent media, and the application of unfounded sanctions against the media and decisions to call them “racketeering publication” were noted in the appeal. At the end of the appeal, they asked the President to take necessary legal steps regarding Press Council Chairman A.Amashov.
Editors-in-chief of Mukhalifet, Khural, Tazadlar, Gundelik Baku, Muhakime, Yeni dovr and other newspapers signed the appeal.
