EYNULLA FATULLAYEV`S BANK ACCOUNT FREEZE CONTINUES

The International Bank of Azerbaijan refused to release money which is in the bank account of imprisoned journalist Eynulla Fatullayev, editor-in-chief of “Realniy Azerbaydjan” and “Gundelik Azerbaycan” newspapers.

The journalist’s lawyer reported that on the 18th of February the Sabail District Court held a hearing on this issue without the participation of lawyers. Judge Araz Huseynov presided over the hearing. The judge decided there is no need to issue a decision on removing the hold over the bank account due to the fact that there were charges of terrorism against Eynulla Fatullayev. The journalist’s bank account remains blocked.
