Imprisoned "Azadlig" Newspaper Chief Editor Ganimat Zahid will pass his 45th birthday in prison tomorrow.
The Institute for Reporters' Freedom and Safety mailed a birthday card to him on 7 February. IRFS staff members expressed their hope for Zahid's quick release and encourage him to continue his journalistic career.
G. Zahid is accused of hooliganism and of inflicting bodily injuries, and is currently being held in pre-trial detention as his court trial continues.
