Today, June 10, in Lankeran City Court, a hearing was scheduled to take place under the chairmanship of Judge Azer Samedov, on a lawsuit to declare the expulsion of Pariz Azimov from Lankeran State University (LSU) illegal. The hearing was postponed by Judge Samedov due to the death of one of his close relatives.
Media Rights Institute lawyer Khalid Agaliyev, who is representing Azimov, told this to the Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety. The hearing has been rescheduled for 11 June at 2:30 p.m.
LSU alleges that Azimov was expelled from the university because he violated disciplinary rules, however Azimov says he was expelled because of articles he wrote about corruption in LSU for “Janub Khabarlari.”
