Today (May 21), in the Yasamal District Court, under the chairmanship of Judge Khagani Tagiyev a preliminary hearing was conducted on “Azadlig” Newspaper correspondent Agil Khalil’s lawsuit
against the Republic of Azerbaijan’s Chief Prosecutor for the video clip that the Prosecutor’s office prepared about the journalist, which was aired on local TV channels.
Khalil’s lawyer is going on a business trip, and it was therefore requested that the trial on this case be postponed until June. The judge agreed, and scheduled the next hearing to take place on 25 June 2008 at 4 p.m.
