HEARING ON SAYYARA HEYDAROVA’S APPEAL POSTPONED

Today, 3 June, in the Baku Appellate Court, under the chairmanship of Judge Gail Mammadov, the hearing scheduled to take place on the appeal of citizen Sayyara Heydarova and injured party Alim Babayev was postponed.

Although the state plaintiff and the injured party came to the hearing, Judge G.Mammadov postponed the hearing stating that citizen S.Heydarova submitted a certificate to the court claiming that she is ill and will not be able to participate. Then the judge scheduled the next hearing for 17 June at 11:00 a.m.
Citizen Sayyara Heydarova was sentenced to 2 years 7 months and 15 days of corrective labor with one year conditional imprisonment (probation) under article 221.1 (hooliganism, violating public order, expressing disrespect in society openly, using force or threatening to use force on citizens, and destruction of private property) of the Criminal Code.
Citizen Sayyara Heydarova stated that she appealed to the Appellate Court because the Surakhani District Court Judge Nuraddin Mustafayev adopted the verdict without her participation and the investigation into her case was spurious and had violations.
The injured party A.Babayev appealed to the Appellate Court because he was not happy about the verdict adopted by the Surakhani District Court Judge Nuraddin Mustafayev to sentence Sayyara Heydarova to 2 years 7 months and 15 days of corrective labor with one year conditional imprisonment (probation).
