Imprisoned journalist Fuad Huseynov, who is serving his sentence in prison #12 of the Penitentiary Service, has recently been placed in the punishment cell for unknown reasons.
According to the journalist’s mother Susana Huseynova, even no statement was taken from her son in this connection.
Last Friday, on October 18th Fuad Huseynov phoned his mother saying that he had been hospitalized. According to the mother, her son suffered health problems after going on hunger strike. However she does not know how severe those health issues were.
Meantime, Susana Huseynova reiterated her claim that her son is innocent and was falsely convicted.
Background: Fuad Huseynov was arrested in October 2010 on trumped-up charges, after fighting against and going public about illegal actions of employees of law-enforcement agencies and government in Ujar region of Azerbaijan. On September 26, 2011 Huseynov was sentenced to six and a half years in prison under Article 221.3 of the Criminal Code (hooliganism).
