Yesterday (14 May) evening “Azadlig” Newspaper employee Agil Khalil gave testimony to investigators again.
Khalil told the Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety that Investigator Ali Guliyev asked him about the attempt to throw him in front of an oncoming subway car in “28 May” subway station last week. Then the investigator mentioned someone’s name and asked the journalist whether he knows such a person. Khalil told the investigator that he doesn’t know anyone by this name.
Investigator Ali Guliyev asked A.Khalil to sign a document, but the journalist refused. “I refused to sign it because there was a paragraph in the document prohibiting me from leaving the country during the investigation,” the journalist said.
