Imprisoned “Azadlig” Newspaper Editor-in-Chief Ganimat Zahid is very concerned about the recent incident involving “Azadlig” Correspondent Agil Khalil.
Zahid’s wife Ayanda Murselaliyeva, who visited Zahid in the Prison #1 today, told this to the Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety. She said, “Ganimat didn't complain about the conditions there (ed. in the prison) or the attitude of the employees of the prison. His only concern is the rumors spread about him. And he also worries that Agil might get hurt,” she said. Murselaliyeva also noted that Zahid could soon be moved from Prison #1, which is a temporary prison, to the prison where he will serve out his four years prison sentenced. However, Zahid hasn’t been informed about this yet.
