IRFS EMPLOYEE NOT PERMITTED IN COURT HALL

Today, 14 April, in the Surakhani District Court, under the chairmanship of Judge Nuraddin Mustafayev, a hearing took place on the lawsuit against citizen Sayyara Heydarova under article 221.1 (hooliganism, violating public order, expressing disrespect in society openly, using force or threatening to use force on citizens, and destruction of private property) of the Criminal Code.     

The plaintiffs; Rasulov Davud, Babayev Alim and Asgarov Alasgar; were interrogated during the hearing. Another plaintiff, Asgarov Yashar, did not participate in the hearing because he is serving a prison sentence in Prison #10.
The next hearing on this case is now scheduled to take place on April 14 at noon.
At the order of Judge N. Mustafayev, police did not permit a representative of the Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety in the court hall.
Sayyara Heydarova is accused of beating four men and was previously being held in prison in pre-trial detention until she was released before International Women’s Day (March 8) in 2008.
