JOURNALIST INJURED IN TRAFFIC ACCIDENT QUESTIONED IN POLICE OFFICE

Journalist Agil Alasgar, survivor of the car accident on 27 October in which Poligon Information Agency Director and Milli Yol newspaper Editor-in-chief Shahin Agabayli was killed, gave testimony to the police.

He was driving the car when the accident took place, State Traffic Police Office Investigation Department official Vagif Najafov told the Institute for Reporters` Freedom and Safety on 27 October.
According to Agil Alasger, he was not feeling well the day the accident happened. While driving, he was having chest pains . The accident happened unexpectedly and he survived the accident because he was wearing his seat belt. During the interrogation Agil Alasgerli said that he used his seat belt, but Shahin Agabeyli did not use it. He said in his testimony that he only survived thanks to the seat belt.
Journalist Agil Alasger is presently being treated at the Clinic Medical Center.
Poligon Information Agency Director and Milli Yol newspaper Editor-in-chief Shahin Agabayli were killed in a traffic accident in the morning on October 27th. The accident took place on Baku-Astara highway, in the Garadag district. His colleague Agil Alasgarli, Editor-in-chief of Yeni Cag newspaper, was driving the car. Criminal case was opened on the fact under Article 263.2 (act committed on imprudence entailed to death of the victim).
