JUHI CONDUCTS ROUNDTABLE DEDICATED TO PROTECTING LABOR RIGHTS

Yesterday, 24 June, the Journalist Trade Union (JuHI) conducted a roundtable within the framework of project “Support for Protection of Citizen’s Labor Rights” with financial support from the Presidential State Council to Support NGOs.

The Director of the Project, JuHI Chairman Mushfig Alasgarli, the main object of the project is to investigate typical reasons of labor disputes citizens encounter at institutions, to assist them to solve these problems, and to try to prevent these cases from happening.
“This program carried out by JuHI consists of assisting the citizens to learn how to protect labor rights, showing them where to appeal when their rights are violated, and organizing live debates between the citizens whose labor rights are violated and relevant (and other) government organs.”
Responsible Employee of State Labor Inspection Tahir Musayev, Representative of Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation Azer Guliyev, Member of Azerbaijan’s Law Board Fakhreddin Mehdiyev, one of the organizers of the Trade Union Akif Jabbarli, citizens who encountered labor disputes, and representatives of NGOs and mass media participated in the roundtable and shared their ideas about the topic.
