Director of Turan information agency, Mehman Aliyev, has been detained as a suspect on charges brought in accordance with Articles 231.1 (tax evasion) and 308.1 (abuse of official powers) of Criminal Code. He is currently in the custody of Yasamal District Police Office, where he has been offered a court-appointed lawyer. Mehman Aliyev has not accepted the offer and said his lawyer is Fuad Agayev.
