A hearing was held on the lawsuit brought by Transport Minister Ziya Mammadov's son Anar Mammadov against Gundem Khabar newspaper. Judge Serdar Mehraliyev presided over the hearing. Mammadov's legal representative Nihad Akhundov stated that the two articles published in Gundem Khabar, "Minister's son takes the possession of country's rail transport" and "Anar Mammadov's bus crashed", do not reflect the truth. He said that his client is not engaged in transport related business.Gundem Khabar legal representative Nasimi Sherefkhanli said that the information regarding the rail transport had been received from a conductor, the one concerning the crashed bus was taken from other websites.
The trial will be reopened on November 7, at 4:30pm.
Anar Mammadov demands that Gundem Khabar pay him 30,000 AZN in compensation for moral damages.
