MIRZA SAKIT STOPS HUNGER-STRIKE

The Institute for Reporters' Freedom and Safety contacted the Public Relations Department of the Justice Ministry's Penitentiary System today.

A representative there told IRFS that Mirza Sakit has already stopped the hunger-strike he started on 2 February.  The representative said, "The journalist did this because we have agreed to reconsider his transfer to the Chief Medical Facility of the Justice Ministry's Penitentiary System."
To clarify this report IRFS contacted Head of Prison #14 Ershad Hasanov, but the Hasanov hung up the phone, refusing to answer the inquiry.
