The father of imprisoned “Bizim Yol” newspaper employee Mushfig Huseynov who is held in prison #2 finally was able to visit his imprisoned son.
This is the first time that Tofig Huseynov has been able to visit his son since M. Huseynov was arrested 10 months ago. M. Huseynov’s relative Tahmasib Huseynov, who also met with Huseynov on Saturday (31 May), told this to the Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety.
Mushfig’s father Tofig Huseynov appealed twice to meet with his son during investigation. While the first appeal was approved, when T. Huseynov arrived in Baku from Saatly to visit his son, then being kept in Bayil Prison, he was denied the meeting for no apparent reason. T. Huseynov’s second appeal went unanswered.
Tahmasib Huseynov said that the problems associated with meeting Mushfig Huseynov have been solved partially and visits are being granted once every two weeks. T. Huseynov also mentioned that m. Husenyov has no complaints about the prison conditions or the attitude of the prison administration there towards him. The journalist continues to receive medical treatment in the prison.
