“Only ‘Azerbaijan TV and Radio Broadcasting’ Closed Shareholder Company officially participated in the tender declared on 21 April to open a sport’s channel,” chairman of the National TV and Radio Council Nushiravan Maharramli told the Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety
Maharramli said that he considers the purchase of sport’s channel, which is supposed to be opened and financed through the state budget, by AzTV legal.
“Azerbaijan TV and Radio Broadcasting” has been a Closed Shareholder Company for two years already. There’s no problem in AzTV purchasing the sport’s channel,” said N.Maharramli. He emphasized that the stocks of AzTV will be offered for sale.
Every year, 24,000,000 AZN from the state budget is allocated for “Azerbaijan TV and Radio Broadcasting” Closed Shareholder Company.
