“Khalg Jabhasi” Newspaper is moving from its current address which is located in Binagadi region, Dadashov st. 70A.
The newspaper’s editor-in-chief Elchin Firuzbeyli reported this to the Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety.
According to Firuzbeyli, the editorial office has been located in its current building for six years, and the rent contract signed with State Committee on State Property Management ends on 19 June.
“The building supposedly belongs to the Water Economy and Land Improvement Office, which will conduct maintenance work there. Taking this into account, the State Committee on State Property Management doesn’t want to extend rent contract and has asked the newspaper to vacate the building within a month,” said E. Firuzbeyli. He added that they have received only verbal warning so far, and no alternative site is being offered.
