According to APA, Human Rights Ombudsman Elmira Suleymanova told journalists, “The ombudsman office supports the amnesty act.” According to her, the ombudsman’s office has even prepared its proposals about this issue.
Regarding whether the journalists will be granted amnesty or not, Suleymanova said, “It is hard to comment on this in advance. Several journalists were freed through a pardon decree. However, amnesty is concerned with articles, and we can’t tell which articles will be considered.”
