“Gundalik Azerbayjan” Editor Shahvaled Chobanoglu told the Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety, that this morning “Gundalik Azebrayjan” Newspaper correspondent Elshan Balakhanli joined the hunger-strike currently being carried out by imprisoned “Gundalik Azerbayjan” and “Realny Azerbayjan” newspapers’ Chief Editor Eynulla Fatullayev. Recall that yesterday, Chobanoglu and “Yeni Musavat” Newspaper editor Zahid Safaroglu also joined the hunger-strike.
While Fatullayev, is striking in prison, the other journalists are conducting their strike in specially allocated room in the editorial office “Yeni Musavat” Newspaper.
Radio Liberty, citing human rights advocate Leyla Yunus, also reported today that political prisoners Rasim Alekberov, Mushfig Madatov and Ruslan Beshirli have also begun hunger-strikes in prison to show solidarity with Fatullayev
