Prisoner of Prison #15 Chingiz Mirzayev reportedly revealed “shocking” information about the 2005 murder of “Monitor” Journal Editor-in-Chief Elmar Huseynov’s murder to Chairman of the Committee Against Torture Elchin Behbudov.
Behbudov told this to the Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety, adding that he unable to reveal to the press exactly what Mirzayev said. Behbudov met with Mirzayev today during a visit to Prison #15.
“I am going to appeal to the National Security Ministry and corresponding organs about this,” Behbudov said.
Recall that it was also reported in the press in 2007 that Mirzayev had information about Elmar Huseynov’s murder case, and would reveal it only if his security was guaranteed. At that time IRFS appealed to the Justice Ministry to meet with Mirzayev, but this request was refused.
