RAMIZ MEHDIYEV’S ARTICLE DISCUSSED IN “AZERBAIJAN” AND” NEW AZERBAIJAN” NEWSPAPERS

Yesterday, 6 October, “Azerbaijan” and “Yeni Azerbaijan” newspapers held a roundtable.

Both events were dedicated to Academic and Presidential Administration Head Ramiz Mehdiyev’s article, “TV sector of Azerbaijan: problems and duties,” published in the “Azerbaijan” newspaper on 4 October.
Milli Majlis Culture Committee member Jale Aliyeva, Public TV and Radio Broadcasting Company Council Chairman Jahangir Memmedli, Baku State University’s Journalism Faculty Dean Yalchin Alizade, TV journalist Gulu Meherremli, Head of the Culture and Tourism Ministry’s Cultural Policy Department Fikret Babayev, and member of the National TV and Radio Broadcasting Company Council Aslan Khalilov participated in the roundtable held by “Yeni Azerbaijan” newspaper. The participants discussed many subjects, including the professionalism and program policy of the televisions, and the radio legislation.
The parliamentarians Rabiyyet Aslanova, Fazail Ibrahimli, Zahid Oruj, Aydin Mirzezade, Fazil Mustafa, Jemil Hesenli, TV specialists Gafar Jabiyev, Gulu Meherremli, cinematograph Jemil Guliyev, journalist Vusale Mahirgizi, singer Mansur Ibrahimov, the representatives of AzTV and Public TV Sadig Eljanli and Fuzuli Ismayilov participated in the roundtable conducted in “Azerbaijan” newspaper which was led by the newspaper’s editor-in-chief Bakhtiyar Sadigov.
Although the vice president of ATV Natiq Ibrahimov was scheduled to participate in the event, the leadership of the channel refused to take part.
According to the “Media Forum" website, R.Aslanova expressed her opinion about how our national and moral values are protected on the television channels. F.Ibrahimli, Z.Oruj, A.Mirzazade, F.Mustafa, Jamil Hasanli, V.Mahirgizi talked about how show and entertainment programs should be organized. G.Jabiyev talked about the successes of the TV and Radio broadcastings, and how they fulfill their duties. G.Maharramli spoke about the program policy of the televisions, and traditions and innovations on TV. J.Guliyev talked about the feature films on private TV channels and the level of dubbings, and S.Eljanli touched the issue of TV casting. F.Ismayılov spoke about the show business and its regulation rules, and M.İbrahimov talked about song competitions.
The participants of the roundtable spoke and expressed their opinions about the issues that were brought up in his article.
