“REPORTERS WITHOUT BORDERS” SIGN APPEAL IN CONNECTION WITH INCIDENTS IN NAKHCHIVAN

According to today’s edition of “Azadlig” Newspaper, “Reporters Without Borders” addressed an appeal to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, Minister of Interior Ramil Usubov, and Nakhchivan Supreme Assembly Chairman Vasif Talibov in connection with persecution against independent journalists in Nakhchivan.

In the appeal the organization condemned persecution and harassment against the Institute for Reporters' Freedom and Safety Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic correspondents Hekimeldostu Mehdiyev, Mehman Mehdiyev and Elman Abbasov and Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty and Turan News Agency Nakhchivan correspondent Malahet Nasibova who wanted to investigate causes behind the disappearance of Sadarak region Heydarabad village residents  Khanimzar Huseynova and Elvin Huseynov, and it is demanded in the appeal that an end be put to these negative cases and the ones responsible be punished, according to “Azadlig” Newspaper.
