Today, 9 February, David Plouffe, US President Barack Obama's election campaign manager, spoke at Gerb (Western) University students today on the subject “On Elections of America – Shaping and Managing Election Campaign” within the framework of a private visit to Azerbaijan.
Journalists and mass media representatives were only allowed to observe the event for approximately five minutes. At the same time, University’s employees and students interfered in the work of the journalists and demanded that they leave. They said David Plouffe did not wish for the journalists to take part in the lecture.
