Imprisoned “Azadlig” Newspaper satiric/journalist Sakit Zahidov sent an appeal to Justice Minister Fikrat Mammadov and Milli Mejlis Law Policy and Government Building Permanent Commission Head Ali Huseynov.
Zahidov’s spouse Rena Zahidova, who told this to the Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety, said that the journalist demands that an end be put to the nonstop corruption in prisons. According to R. Zahidova, Zahidov has also sent a message to political prisoners serving in other prisons to join this appeal.
R. Zahidova added that S. Zahidov condemns the lawsuit put forth by Internal Minister Ramil Usubov against human rights defender Leyla Yunus.
