Yesterday a roundtable was conducted regarding the situation of Azerbaijan TV sector by the initiative of the National TV and Radio Council (NTRC), and the State Support Council to Non-governmental Organizations under the President of Azerbaijan. The problems in Azerbaijan TV channels were discussed in the meeting.
NTRC Chairman Nushiravan Maharramli appealed to the Culture and Tourism Ministry during the meeting, and asked for assistance in broadcasting the films with symbolic prices that areprepared in Azerbaijan for festivals on local TV channels..
The Defense Society for Women’s Rights named after Dilara Aliyeva Chairperson Novella Jafaroglu blamed ANS TV channel for losing its independence.
"Nobody can measure patriotism with a percentage. ANS is as independent as it always has been,” answered Mirshahin Agayev, the vice-president of ANS.
MP Sabir Rustamkhanlı said that Azerbaijani language is distorted in several programs of the “Space” TV channel. “You do not know the TV field. Generally, I don’t accept the 'Space' TV channel as a TV channel,” said S.Rustamkhanli to the channel’s head Vagif Mustafayev.
V.Mustafayev objected to this criticism and said, “Unlike you, I studied this field in Russia. We should not express our subjective feelings and resentment here.”
