Today, 22 July, in the Nasimi District Court, under the chairmanship of Judge Sevda Huseynova, a preliminary hearing was held on “Gabala” Football Club Vice-president Jamil Muradov’s lawsuit against fanat.az website column writer and “Komanda” newspaper’s responsible editor Natig Mukhtarli in the special format.
The Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety was told by Natig Mukhtarli that the judge considered the lawsuit unfounded and rejected it without considering it.
Claiming that his honor and dignity were insulted in Natig Mukhtarli’s articles, “Gabala” Football Club Vice-president Jamil Muradov filed a lawsuit against the journalist under articles 147.1 and 148 of the Criminal Code.
