STUDENT-JOURNALIST APPEALS TO COURT REGARDING HIS DISMISSAL FROM UNIVERSITY

Yesterday, 17 February, Poligon information agency editor Elmin Bedelov appealed to the Nasimi District Court regarding his dismissal from the Azerbaijan State Oil Academy. The Institute for Reporters` Freedom and Safety was told this by Elmin Bedelov.

According to Elmin Bedelov, the Azerbaijan State Oil Academy and the Rector of the Academy Siyavush Garayev were indicated as the defendants in the appeal.
E.Bedelov emphasized that in the appeal he asked the court to annul the examination results and to restore him to the university.
E.Bedelov`s rights will be defended by the Media Rights Institute’s lawyer Fariz Namazov. 
On 19 January 2010 Elmin Bedelov was dismissed from Azerbaijan State Oil Academy.

Elmin Bedelov was dismissed from university on 19 January 2010. On 12 November 2009 Elmin Badalov published an article on pia.az website (“Reportage from Azerbaijan State Oil Academy) regarding bribe cases and financial frauds in Azerbaijan State Oil Academy. The student-journalist claims that pressure used against him and his failures are related to his article.
