The court fined a journalist for 500 manats

Journalist Sakhavat Mamed renowned for his investigations and critical publications about wanton and corruption in the army of Azerbaijan, has been fined by court for 500 manats. This is the information from the journalist himself. According to journalist on December 18 he was summoned to the general prosecutor’s office and interrogated. After investigation the journalist was taken to court, whereby he was accused under article 388-1.1.1 of the Code on administrative offences (publication in the information resource or in the information and telecommunication media of the information distribution of which is prohibited by the Law of Azerbaijan Republic ‘On information, informatization and information protection’) and has been fined for 500 manats.
