WORK OF INDEPENDENT MILITARY WEBSITE HINDERED

Today (1 August) founders of  "Milaz.info" site conducted a press conference about provocation and pressure against "Milaz.info" site

The press conference was held in the office of the "Officers in Reserve and Retirement" Public Union. "Officers in Reserve and Retirement" Public Union Chairman Yashar Jafarli, "Veterans of Military Unit #651" Public Union Chairman Ildirim Mammadov, "Doktrina" Center of Journalist Union on Military Research Chairman Jasur Mammadov (Sumerinli), "Manevr" Journalist Research Center Chairman Rashad Suleymanov and "Military Journalists" Public Union Chairman Uzeyir Jafarov participated in the press conference (these five organizations are the founders and board members of "Milaz.info” site).
Y. Jafarli spoke first and talked about the site. Then "Doktrina" Center of Journalist Union on Military Research Chairman Jasur Mammadov (Sumerinli) spoke. He said that “Milaz.info” site started operating in September of 2007 and the site covers events happening in the defense and security sector of Azerbaijan and around the world.
"Milaz.info" site, which ceased its operations on 28 July for unknown reasons, restored its work yesterday at 2:15 p.m. During the period the site was not in operation a lot of information, interviews, news and comments that had been placed on the site between 21-28 July was removed. These kinds of incidents have been continuously repeated. First we thought this was a technical problem. However, we realized, after information was erased from the site, that some officials are not interested in this kind of website. Attacks against our site from different addresses also indicate that the problem is not simply technical. It seems like some people don’t like critical articles we periodically place on our site,” added J. Mammadov.
J. Mammadov emphasized that they are getting prepared to appeal to law-enforcement organs, and international organizations regarding this issue.
