Steven Korn, the president of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, has travelled to Baku to meet with journalist Khadija Ismayilova.
On March 12th Khadija Ismayilova told MediaForum.az news site that the president is fully supportive of her: “Our meetings will go on. And there will be an official statement”.
On March 7, investigative journalist Khadija Ismayilova received an envelope in the post containing photos of intimate nature and a threatening note. The letter says that unless she stops ‘behaving improperly’, she will be 'defamed'. On March 9th, Ismayilova sent an appeal to General Prosecutor Zakir Garalov and Interior Minister Ramil Safarov.
